Paul Kibet, from Sigor, West Pokot County is an alumnus of the KenGen’s Education Scholarships programme.
A former student at Kapenguria Boys Secondary School, class of 2014, he was awarded a full University Scholarship after qualifying to join Kenyatta University where he pursued a degree in Nursing and Public Health of which he graduated with First Class honours.
The fourth born son in a family of 8, he came from a family of humble and poor background and was awarded the scholarship after emerging the best at Kapenguria.
He has just started his career at the Isiolo Teaching and Referral Hospital as an intern.
He recently visited the Foundation office with a gift of honey and the following heartfelt appreciation letter:
“I want to take this special opportunity to thank KenGen Foundation for offering me full scholarship throughout my university studies [sic]. It is of great honor to be part of KenGen Foundation and honestly I couldn’t have made it without you.
I remember the time I joined Kenyatta University, I didn’t know where I could get the fees for the academic year. I couldn’t have made it without the Foundation.
Today I have graduated with First Class Honors in Bachelors of Science – Nursing and Public Health with a GPA of 73.05.
All the Mentorship sessions that the Foundation organized were of great help as my performance was below average when I joined the university. The speaker really motivated me to always aim higher and work smart. My achievement is the evidence of the Foundation’s role and its impact in my life.
Sincerely,
Paul Kibet
