Elizabeth Kisyang’a: A KenGen Education Scholarship Success Story

Elizabeth Kisyang’a from Masinga is an alumnus of the KenGen’s Education Scholarships programme. A former student at Masinga Girls’ Secondary School class of 2006, she was awarded a full University scholarship after qualifying to join Maseno University wher she pursued a degree in Communications and Media Technology with Information Technology (IT).

The lastborn daughter in a family of eight, she lost her parents at a tender age and had to study through the support of her guardian and well-wishers.

She started her career after graduating in 2012 with second-class upper division as a freelance writer with Business Daily Newspaper (Daily Nation) and in 2013, she managed to get a job with the University of Nairobi HIV Capacity Building Fellowship funded by Centre for Disease Control (CDC) as the Communications Officer where she is to date.
