Curtains Close on KenGen’s 7-Forks Community Soccer Tournament 2015

In a tense and highly competitive game played in front of a crowd of hundreds, Matendeni FC emerged the overall winner in the men’s category during the KenGen Community Soccer Tournament finals at Matendeni Football field on 1st August 2015.

In the ladies’ category, Super Swallows FC of Mbeere took on Masinga Integrated FC in the opening match but their hope of lifting the coveted girls’ trophy were dashed by a well-executed goal from Esther Nzisa during the first half of the game.

The Swallows upped their game, but were unable to match the skills of the girls from Masinga, who drove the final nail in the coffin with a second goal by Damaris Kivuva during the second half, ending the match 2-0.

The highly anticipated men’s finals started off with Dallas FC leading 1-0 after Benson Fundi of Matendeni FC scored an own goal. Their celebrations were however quickly silenced with a brilliant goal from Matendenis’ Juma Hamza a few minutes later. The talented player ended the first half by nearly tearing a hole between the opposition’s goal net for the second time, making the half-time score 2-1 in their favor.
