Celebrating Ten Years of Education Scholarship Success.
Since 2005, KenGen has invested over KSh. 17.5 million in education scholarships for tomorrow’s leaders, with over 350 students benefiting from the programme by the year 2014.
The central goal of the programme is to enable beneficiaries realise their dreams and achieve their life goals through the achievement of a holistic education. It aims at assisting students fully realize their potential and enable them become better citizens and major players in the realisation of this country’s social and economic goals. The programme reaches out to a very diverse audience including the girl child and also students with disabilities.
The Education Scholarships excellent performers incentives enable the high school students who get an A mark in the KCSE get automatic scholarship to the University. Likewise, KenGen continues to offer automatic employment to students who attain First class honors in technical areas required by the company.
The Education Scholarships Programme is part of the KenGen Foundation’s 3 pillars of Corporate Social Investment, and includes the Annual Mentorship Programme and schools infrastructure support. It is facilitated by the KenGen Company and managed by the KenGen Foundation.
